Mind Games

So, at work, we got pretty bored and my manager happened to pick up a book titled "I Can Make You Thin" she started reading it outloud and we were all surprised by what was in it. There were a few tricks to make yourself not crave a food so much.

Trick #1- To picture the food you are craving covered in maggots. Nasty, right?
Trick #2- To think about the food you are craving and imagine it mixed with a food you hate. Like chocolate cake mixed with onions.

There were other such tricks in this book like the previous. But what REALLY got us laughing is two pages of the book that were as follows...

"CRAVING BUSTER- NUMBER ONE
Before you do this technique, read through each step so that you know exactly what to do.

1. I want to get you the biggest desire for your favorite craving food. NOw, rate your craving on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest.
2. Take two fingers of either hand and tap about ten times under your collarbone while thinking of your craving food.
3. Now tap under your eye ten times
4. Now tap your collarbone again.
5. Place your other hand in front of you and tap on the back of it between your ring finger and your little finger. Continue to think of your craving food as you do this.
6. Close your eyes and open them
7. Keep your head still, keep tapping and look down and to the right and then down and to the left
8. Keep tapping and rotate your eyes around 360 degrees clockwise, and now 360 degrees counterclockwise
9. Now hum the first few lines of Happy Birthday
10. Count out loud from 1 to 5
11. Once again, hum the first few lines of Happy Birthday out loud.
12. Stop and check- on a scale of 1 to 10, what number is your craving now?"

I thought that these two pages from this book were pretty funny. I thought I would share it with you. Who knows, maybe it works and next time when you see me I am tapping my collarbone and singing Happy Birthday you will know what I am up to.
